EXERCISE # 3
a) make a barre with the index finger on the first fret. Sound each string individually, making sure that each string rings clearly. Now move up the neck, one fret at a time, using the same procedure for clarity.
b) Make each basic shape with the barre as explained in Paragraphs 17 -
19. Now move each chord shape up the neck, one fret at a time, making sure that every note in the chord is sounded.
c) In the same fashion, play the barre dominant 7th chords in all five basic chord shapes.
(i.e. F7 / E-Shape, Bb7 / A shape, Eb7 / D-Shape, Ab7 / G-Shape, and Db7 / C-Shape)
d) Play all of the barre minor chords in all five basic chord shapes. Be sure you are playing each form all the way up the neck, one fret at a time.
e) Now do the same thing with the barre minor 7th chords in all five basic chord shapes. |
