Composing is something you do all by yourself. It requires mastery of the entire language of Music. Composing is the total expression of the Complete Musician. You become an Architect of sound. Sometimes it flows easily, other times, it's so elusive that a note can't be written on the page. The famous Al Harris, music director for NBC radio, Orchestrator for film and composer for classical guitarist, Andre Segovia, was one of my teachers. Al told me --- "Think of yourself as being a Sculptor, and you're chiseling away the excess rock around the work of art. It's in side you already. The hardest part is the removal of the excess rock around the work of art. Until it reveals itself. You know your there when the HAIR STANDS UP ON YOUR ARM!"
