Wyatt Ruther was for years a regular on East Coast recording sessions. Having recorded with just about everyone from Errol Garner to Count Basie.
He was also one of New York City's finest music copyist. I learned the New York  style of copying from him, where the music writing pen, held as the picture depicts, --- never leaves the paper. I already new the "Quill" or West Coast style of music copying. With this specialty, I became a Musician's Union Copyist adept in both skills. Not only was this financially rewarding, it also gave a chance to study the greatest commercial scores of the day. My Music Copyist number was A -726  Local 6.
