| Jimmy Stewart | Recording Studio | ABC Network |
To become a Studio Broadcast Musician in the early fifties, you were expected to play more than the guitar. The position at NETWORK was called " Fretted Instrument Player." This included mastery in Banjo, Mandolin, Ukulele, and the Guitars --- basically any instrument that had frets. I became proficient at all these instruments, but lucky --- or unlucky, I became known as a Plectrum Banjo Virtuoso. You can hear examples of my work in the motion picture, "Paint Your Wagon" and Broadway Soundtrack Recordings --- "Half a Sixpence amongst many others of that decade.
